About Us

First, let me tell you a little about myself, my family, and the Kennel.

I am Vona McDougal, Owner / Manager of Red River Kennels, we are Located in Northeast Texas, about 15 miles from the Red River that divides Texas from the states of Oklahoma & Arkansas. I have two children, Dillon 21 and Sarah Kate 17. I've been involved with animals all my life, I grew up on the farm that I am now raising my Children on. I received an Assoc. Degree in Animal Science and Reg. Animal Technician license in 1988. For 10 years I worked in our local Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Tech. Assistant.

As the kennel grew, I decided to give up my work outside the home and I became 100% devoted to my family and animals. I have been breeding and raising Yorkshire Terriers for past 11 years. We are a

small kennel, and we don't always have puppies available. But we do offer a waiting list. Our dogs are 100% Disease Free.

I met Shannon (my boy-friend) in July 09, he has become a major part of our lives. He is right there along side of me in helping, caring and raising the puppies. He has his on Small Engine Repair Service(ATV's and Lawn Equipment), and I think he would trade one of his puppies for a small engine anyday...... (NO, just kidding!!!)

Another Love/Hobby of mine is Barrelracing. I have been riding and training horses all my life. My partner is my daughter, we travel to the local Rodeos to compete. Also when we aren't Rodeoing and delivering and playing with puppies, we sometimes go to the RED RIVER sandbars with family and friends and ride 4-wheelers. My son is currently working in KUWAIT at this time, and we miss him dearly and will be so glad to have him back home in the USA. Below are some pics of my family.
